Nanyang Institute of Management is pleased to announce the official setting up of the School of Tourism & Hospitality Alumni Chapter. Its purpose and directions are stated below.
Alumni - PURPOSE:
Vision. Our vision is to play a leading role in enhancing the worldwide prestige of Nanyang Institute of Management Programmes and it’s Alumni Chapter, with the overall goal of increasing the value of the Nanyang Institute of Management Degrees.
Mission: The mission of the Nanyang Institute of Management Alumni Chapter is to support the goals of the Institution by strengthening the interaction between the NIM Alumni and the Institution.
Goals. To fulfill the vision and mission of the NIM Alumni Chapter we will strive to fulfil the following goals:
1. To play a key role in enhancing the prestige and recognition of the Nanyang diploma in Singapore and internationally
2. To cultivate continued relationships with ex-students and create networking opportunities and a sense of belonging among members
3. To share and disseminate value-added information to members for their benefit and career advancement.

COMPETITION to attract new members:
a. Winner to get 2 night’s stay in a Top Singapore Hotel.
b. The competition criteria will be based on:
i. The best written testimonial regarding their achievements with the NIM diploma
ii. The best paid job (relative to country’s cost of living)
iii. The best positions (relative to title and job scope)
iv. The best testimonial/reference (from employer)
Each criteria will have its own weighted points and the judges’ decisions will be final. Submission by email to audie.wee@nanyang.edu.sg Hard copies to the address given below and should be titled “Alumni Competition” on the front. Closing date is 31 November 2009
Activities to be arranged in due course will be:
1. Industry news updates
2. Job opportunities in Tourism and Hospitality in Singapore and beyond
3. Get togethers/ Outings at Nanyang
4. Talks and seminars by renown speakers
5. Self improvement courses
6. Networking opportunities
