Transfer/Withdrawal Policies & Procedures

TRANSFER POLICY / WITHDRAWAL PROCESS
 
NIM manages student's requests for course transfer or withdrawal in a fair and acceptable manner.
 
TRANSFER POLICY / WITHDRAWAL POLICY
 
NIM has a fair and reasonable transfer and/or withdrawal policy.
 
Transfer means a student changes the course of study but remains as a student of NIM.
Transfers are subjected to the following conditions.
 
 
1. A student meets the entry requirements of the transferred course.
2. The transfer is approved by the Head of School.
3. Application of a new student and ICA’s approval.
4. Termination of current contract and completion of new contract for the transferred course.
5. If the student is below 18 years of age, the parent or guardian’s approval for the transfer is required.
 
Students are not required to pay a transfer fees. The student will have to pay all fees of the existing contract and fees pertaining to the new contract that the student signed with NIM including application fees. All refunds (if applicable) will be according to the NIM’s Refund Policies.
 
All Transfers will be processed within 7 working days from the date of the application of transfer.  Approval of the transfer applications will be dependent upon the approval of the Student’s Pass by ICA. Student will be notify of ICA’s approval and the old Student’s Pass will be cancelled.
 
Withdrawal means the student contract is terminated before the completion of the course and the student is no longer a student of NIM. The Student’s Pass will be cancelled upon withdrawal.  Withdrawals are subjected to the following conditions.
 
1. The Head of School interviews the student and approve the withdrawal.
2. The Student’s Pass will be cancelled by NIM
3. If the student is below 18 years of age, the parent or guardian’s approval for the withdrawal is required.
 
Students are not required to pay a withdrawal fees. The student has to pay all outstanding fees of the current contract. All refunds (if applicable) will be according to the NIM’s Refund Policies.
 
All Withdrawal will be processed within 7 working days from the date of the application of withdrawal.  Students will be notify of when to collect their Social Visit Pass upon successful cancellation of the Student’s Pass.
 
NIM’s Transfer/Withdraw policies are described in its website and student handbook and communicated to the students in the pre-course counselling session and during the student orientation.
 
 
TRANSFER / WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURES
 
NIM has procedures which are aligned with the transfer/ withdrawal policy to execute any transfer/withdrawal application.
 
 
Transfer Procedure
 
1. Transfer process consist of 2 scenarios. 
 
a. For the first scenario, the student is upgrading from 1 course to another course.
b. For the second scenario, the student is transferring from one course to another course.
c. The procedure is the same for both scenarios except in the second scenario, the student needs to submit the request through a feedback form and the HOS must approve the transfer.
d. All request for transfer for students below 18 years of age must be approved by parents/guardian.
 
2. Student are to pay all outstanding fees for current contract and all refunds (if applicable) will be accordingly to NIM’s Refund Policies.
 
3. NIM will give the student a Letter of Offer and apply for the Student’s Pass based on the new course.
 
4. The student will have the complete the following
a. Submit the feedback form (only for transfer from one course to another course).
b. Pay the application fee.
c. Sign the new contract.
d. Complete and sign the escrow form for Fee Protection Scheme.
 
5. Upon receipt of approval from ICA, NIM will notify to the student.
 
6. NIM will send the student the In-Principle Approve letter from ICA if the student is not in Singapore.
 
Withdraw Process
 
1. Student will notify the Student Service Officer of their intention to withdraw before the completion of the course.
 
2.The student will have to complete and sign the following:
 a. Notification to Withdraw from Institute form
 b. Cancellation of Student’s Pass/Visit Pass form
 c. Notice of Premature Withdrawal from course letter (for cancellation of Escrow account)
 d. Provide copies of the student’s passport and Student’s Pass.
 
3. The Head of School will interview the student and approve the withdrawal.  The Head of School and student are to sign the Minutes of Meeting with Student form.
 
4. Student is to pay NIM all outstanding course fees and miscellaneous fees where applicable. All refunds (if applicable) will be accordingly to NIM’s Refund Policies.
 
5. NIM will cancel the Student’s Pass and the Escrow Account.
 
6. NIM will give the student an Acceptance of Withdrawal from Course letter.
 
7. NIM will give the student the Social Visit Pass when it is issued by ICA.
